This question has been asked many times by me, by you and by anyone striving to be where God wants him or her to be. I see it a lot when people come to sit with me. They feel like they are floundering in life, in their surroundings or jobs. Especially today with all the unknowns, the conflict, the fear, and the chaos. How do we know we are where we are supposed to be?
Have you asked these questions: “Am I where I should be?” “Should I be somewhere else, doing something else?” “I feel like I should have been born in the early 1900’s instead of the 2000’s”.
While studying this week I happened upon these scriptures read it carefully: “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17:24-27).
Not only does this scripture answer the question “are you where you are supposed to be” but it also answers so many other questions. Let’s focus first on the question at the beginning. Many of us have wondered if we are a mistake, His answer “NO you are not”. “He made every nation of men”. That includes every human on earth today all almost 7 billion of us. Not one of us is a mistake or accident we were made to inhabit the whole earth at this exact time in history.
Let’s ask another question. Now that we know God has put us on this earth at this time and place; are we where He wants us in our life or walk with Him? This is a difficult question to answer. Why, because we each have free will and the ability to turn away from God. In your relationship with Him lies the answer to this question.
But here are some questions to ask yourself…are you living your life for you or for Him? Do you involve Him in your plans, every plan? Are you living life or merely getting through it? Are you growing in your faith and knowledge of the Maker of Heaven and Earth? Would you be willing to give up everything to follow Christ?
Be honest with yourself. God knows you and loves you.
Are you where you are supposed to be?
Truths to consider when contemplating an answer.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-22
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; …
